El de <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mclaren.com\/racing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Arrow McLaren<\/a><\/strong> domin\u00f3 la \u00faltima parte de la carrera sin distracciones, sin siquiera preguntarse en qu\u00e9 posici\u00f3n rodaba Palou. Para O\u2019Ward aprovech\u00f3 una parada temprana para cambiar los neum\u00e1ticos alternativos por los primarios, mientras que Palou apost\u00f3 por la t\u00e1ctica opuesta: comenz\u00f3 con los primarios y se vio forzado a usar los alternativos durante m\u00e1s tiempo en condiciones complicadas. Aunque lider\u00f3 brevemente, el piloto espa\u00f1ol termin\u00f3 atrapado en el tr\u00e1fico. A pesar de eso, sigue liderando el campeonato con amplio margen. Seg\u00fan los c\u00e1lculos, necesitar\u00eda mantener una diferencia de 54 puntos despu\u00e9s de Milwaukee para asegurar su tercer t\u00edtulo consecutivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La agresividad de O\u2019Ward tambi\u00e9n qued\u00f3 en evidencia con un contacto con Will Power de Team Penske, maniobra que fue investigada por la direcci\u00f3n de carrera y declarada como incidente de competencia. Power, quien toc\u00f3 el muro tras el contacto, termin\u00f3 und\u00e9cimo, justo por delante de Palou. Zak Brown, CEO del equipo, afirm\u00f3 que \u201cel campeonato no ha terminado\u201d y que a\u00fan creen en milagros. Tony Kanaan, director deportivo, destac\u00f3 la importancia de mantener la fe carrera tras carrera: \u201cEn esta categor\u00eda, cada vez que se apaga el sem\u00e1foro es una nueva oportunidad. Ganar aqu\u00ed, en un lugar donde siempre hemos sufrido, le da un gran impulso al equipo.\u201d La mentalidad ganadora es clave para mantener viva la esperanza en esta recta final del campeonato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para O\u2019Ward, el objetivo inmediato es seguir encadenando fines de semana como este. \u201cNo basta con la estrategia. Necesitas un auto que te permita atacar y adelantar. Hoy lo tuvimos, y se siente muy bien ganarlo as\u00ed\u201d, asegur\u00f3. Aunque Palou sigue teniendo ventaja, las pr\u00f3ximas citas del calendario \u2014Laguna Seca, Portland, Milwaukee y Nashville\u2014 prometen emociones fuertes.
