Con 6-4, 7-5, 4-6 y 7-6 el n\u00famero 21 del mundo alcanzo su primera semifinal australiana donde enfrentar\u00e1 al ganador del partido entre Jannik Sinner y Alex de Minaur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El encuentro comenz\u00f3 parejo y ambos jugadores se negaban a ceder su servicio, el momento clave lleg\u00f3 cuando se encontraban 4-4, pues por fin Shelton logr\u00f3 quebrar a su rival para irse 5-4 arriba y adem\u00e1s poder sacar para llevarse el primer parcial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El segundo set fue igual o m\u00e1s peleado, pues un quiebre por lado los coloc\u00f3 5-5, pero Sonego volvi\u00f3 a ceder y vivi\u00f3 un dejav\u00fa, pues Ben lo quebr\u00f3 para irse arriba 6-5 adem\u00e1s de tener el servicio para ganar el parcial. Fue hasta la tercera parte que Lorenz\u00f3 se encontr\u00f3 5-4 arriba y quebr\u00f3 a Shelton para llevarse el tercer parcial y ponerse 2-1 abajo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porque el cierre no pod\u00eda ser diferente, este lleg\u00f3 hasta el tie break despu\u00e9s de que ninguno lograr arrebatarle un servicio a su rival. Los quiebres llegaron en el desempate y el italiano vivi\u00f3 un dejav\u00fa m\u00e1s: con el marcador 4-4, Shelton lo quebr\u00f3 para irse arriba 5-4 y acert\u00f3 sus servicios. De esta forma se marc\u00f3 el 7-4 en el tie break, 7-6 en el set y 3-1 en el encuentro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
